February 2012 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>University of Iceland, School of Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Reykjavik, Iceland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>The future of music education in the Nordic countries<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Keynote Symposia<br \/>\n<\/strong>Each of the Nordic countries will plan a symposium including an introductory keynote and a facilitated discussion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Submission formats<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: center\">\n<li><strong>a)\tPhD- project in progress paper<\/strong>: timeframe 40 minutes with max 20 minutes for presentation and 20 minutes for discussion + 5 minutes intermission between presentations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>b)\tPoster: <\/strong>5 minutes oral announcement in plenum + poster session for individual presentation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>c)\tSenior research paper<\/strong>:\u00a0 timeframe 40 minutes with max 20 minutes for presentation and 20 minutes for discussion + 5 minutes intermission between presentations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>d)\tCompleted PhD-projects paper: <\/strong>timeframe 40 minutes (included questions) + 5 minutes intermission between presentations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>e)\tSymposium: Several papers<\/strong> may be submitted together indicating an interest to form a symposium. Timeframe to be decided.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Discussants will be appointed for paper presentations of PhD projects in progress as well as for senior research papers including symposia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>PhD seminar 21. &#8211; 22. February 2012<br \/>\n<\/strong>Prior to the conference, a PhD seminar will take place. This seminar has two objectives: 1) to discuss student papers that are not presented at the conference (this usually takes place Tuesday afternoon), and 2) to provide an informal meeting place for doctoral students (this usually takes place on Wednesday morning). Senior researchers will participate as facilitators for the discussions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Deadline for submissions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: center\">\n<li>\uf0b7\tPlease submit an abstract (maximum 1000 words without references) <em>indicating your preferred presentation format<\/em> no later than <strong>November 15, 2011<\/strong> to <a href=\"mailto:svho@dpu.dk\">svho@dpu.dk<\/a>. On acceptance the abstract will be published on the conference website \/ printed in the proceedings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\uf0b7\tNotification of acceptance will be emailed to presenters by<strong> December 1, 2011.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\uf0b7\tFor paper presentations, a full paper for your commentator (maximum 4000 words including references) will be due no later than <strong>January 31, 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\uf0b7\tPlease indicate clearly the preferred <em>presentation format<\/em> of your submission and whether the presentation is submitted <em>for the PhD seminar <\/em>or<em> for the conference<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The conference language in all plenum sessions is English, yet presentations in parallel session may be in English, Swedish, Norwegian or Danish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Preliminary programme and further information about the conference will be announced in newsletters and on a conference web site that will be launched.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Site host: Helga Rut Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Welcome to Reykjavik 21. + 22. \u2013 24.
